Registration options

All Race Entry Registration includes 4 race hot dogs, bib, timing and a minimum $10 donation to a local Detroit Dog Rescue.

Race Entry Options, all registration includes race sticker:

$20 individual registration
$60 relay team registration
+cost of any optional add on swag

Spectator ticket options (not required, but will increase our donation!)
$5 donation + cost of any optional swag

Race Rules

• Racers will consume 4 hot dogs (w/buns) and run 1 total mile broken into 1/4 mile laps
• One hot dog must be fully consumed before the start of each lap
• condiments are optional, ketchup and mustard will be provided
• you may dip your hot dog in a beverage of your choice
• reversal of fortune = DQ
• dietary restrictions honored upon request (please provide with registration)
• awards for first overall, first female and first male finishers
• not a closed course

Wave Start

Wave time chosen at registration:

Wave 1: 10:30 am start
Wave 2: 11:15 wave start
Wave 3: 12 pm wave start
Wave 4 (relay): 12:45 pm start

Wave 2 is the “elite wave” but anyone may register for this time. If you think you will run an under 10 minute hot dog mile, we recommend registering for Wave 2.

Race Course

The race is not a closed course. The start/finish/hot dog eating area on Riopelle in front of EMBC will be closed off but the remainder of the course is open. We will do our best to have course marshals at each turn, but this is based on volunteers and not guaranteed.

The course consists of 4 laps of approximately 1/4 mile in historic Eastern Market with the start/finish on Riopelle in front of EMBC. Just like a track race it is all left turns!

Awards/Results

Results will be available and sent via mobile number at the end of all waves.

Awards will be presented to the first overall, first female and first male finishers. If you were around last year, you know how sweet that trophy is. If this is your first year- trust us, you’re gonna want to take home the gold!
